Web design & development

A website is the one part of a business that is open at three in the morning. Ours are built to be read rather than admired: fast, legible, and honest about what you sell.

We start with what the business actually needs the site to do: get phoned, get quoted, get found, sell something. Everything after that is in service of it. There is no template underneath, and no page builder bolted on top that turns into somebody else's problem in a year.

Every site ships responsive from 320px up, tested at four widths, with real accessibility work rather than a badge in the footer: keyboard paths that make sense, 24px touch targets, contrast that passes at the sizes type is actually set at, and copy that reads the same to a screen reader as it does to you.

Performance is a South African concern, not a scorecard one. Images are sized and served in modern formats, fonts are subset and preloaded, and the whole thing goes out over a CDN, so a customer on mobile data in Polokwane gets the same site as one on fibre in Johannesburg.

What you get

Four things arrive, in this order.

Everything below is in the scope by default. If a project does not need one of them, it comes off the quote rather than being quietly left out.

  1. 01

A design system, not a set of pages

Colour, type, spacing and components defined once, so page eleven costs a fraction of page one.

  2. 02

    The build

Next.js and TypeScript, deployed on Vercel, with the source in a repository you own from the first commit.

  3. 03

    Content you can change

Copy and imagery editable without touching code, with a walkthrough recorded for whoever ends up doing it.

  4. 04

    Search and analytics

Metadata, sitemap, structured data, Search Console and a privacy-respecting analytics view, all wired before launch.

How it runs

From the first call to the handover.

You see the work at every stage, on something real. Nothing on this list needs chasing.

  1. 01

    Scope call

An hour on what the site has to do, who it is for and what already exists. No charge, no obligation.

  2. 02

    Fixed proposal

Pages, features, timeline and price, written down. What is not in it is not in the price either.

  3. 03

    Design, then build

You see the real thing on a staging URL from week one, not a picture of it in a slide.

  4. 04

    Launch and hand over

DNS, hosting, mail records, analytics and a handover session. Thirty days of fixes included.

Questions

The things people ask before they commit.

  • How long does a website take?

A focused marketing site is four to six weeks from scope to launch. Anything with accounts, payments or a lot of content runs eight to twelve.

  • Do I own the code?

Yes. The repository is transferred to you at launch and the site runs on standard, open technology. Nothing is locked to us.

  • Can you work with our existing brand?

Usually. If the brand has no usable assets we will say so early and quote the identity work separately, rather than quietly redesigning it.
